The Committee created the list of preferences which are categorized as follows. This list shall be used as a suggestion for solutions of questions and risks during the coming Committee proceedings.

Actual Preferences
    Examples:
  • Questions of floods (e.g. soil, water and air contamination, disinsection and disinfestations problems)

  • Mycotoxins and allergens in food crude

  • Physical and mechanic contamination of food

  • Neurotoxic pesticides - Organophosphates (OP), Carbamates, Pyrethroides etc. (detection, surveying, OP alternative searching)

  • GMO - risks communication
Long-time Preferences
  1. To elaborate a list of actual risks in various hazard groups

  2. The main groups of risks:
    • Heavy metals and other inorganic contaminants and additives

    • Residues of modern pesticides (OP, methyl bromide) and other organic contaminants and additives

    • Pathogenic bio-contamination

    • Bio-toxins (mycotoxins and other natural toxic substances)

    • Allergens (arthropods, vertebrata, herbage)

    • Fragments of arthropods and other sorts of adulteration coming from agricultural production in food

    • GMO

    • Physical bio-contamination (technology)

    • Risks of men behavior (so-called "human factor") in agricultural works with fertilizers and pesticides (especially "malpractice" problem)
  3. Hazard analysis
    • Quality of various hazards

    • Quantity of hazards (abundance, frequency)

    • Geographical expansion of hazards (national, international)
  4. Risk analysis
    • Influence of food and human health
  5. Conditions analysis (conditions leading to hazards); searching of condition and alternatives to prevent these hazards
    • E.g.: accurate using of pesticides (food contamination due to wrong application of pesticides), prevention: technology, monitoring of critical conditions, variety breeding, etc.)

    • System monitoring the quality of crude coming from abroad (developing countries) and residue contamination (legislative changes)

    • Initiation of research programs and projects
  6. Distribution of information and risk communication of various hazards
    • Practical recommendations

    • Information on Web sites (internet)
  7. Prediction of hazard and risk trends: problems anticipation and generation of emergence schedules
    • Research policy

    • Food safety policy

    • Problems with the bio and chemical terrorism (pesticides)
